Shipwright - Leading Hand
Full-time position
Reports to: Managing Director
This role is responsible for providing leadership and effective coordination of the boat-building and repairing team. Working closely with all areas of the business, you will lead the team in constructing, fitting out, commissioning, and repairing all types of vessels, including recreational, competitive, and commercial vessels. The selected candidate will work closely with the management team to coordinate a range of exciting and innovative projects both on and off-site.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Overseeing the daily management and delegation of works.
Ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard.
Ordering materials and supplies.
Quoting works and managing job budgets.
Lead the team to undertake a range of repairs, builds, and rebuilds, including interior fit-out and fibreglass works.
Liaising with clients, suppliers and other contractors.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
Minimum six (6) years’ experience as a qualified shipwright or equivalent trade.
Shipwright or equivalent qualification
Management and/or supervisory experience
Valid WA Driver’s Licence
Structural laminating experience
Desired
Forklift ticket
Fit-out expensive

As part of the boat building team, you will be responsible for repairs, builds and rebuilds. Working closely with all areas of the business, you will construct, fit out, commission and repair all types of vessels, including recreational, competitive, and commercial. The selected candidate will work on a range of exciting and innovative projects both on and off-site.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Workshop cleaning and maintenance
Attending TAFE & other training
Complete a range of GRP repairs, builds and repairs
Structural laminating.
Composite fabrication. Including infusion, injection moulding, moulding/ tooling and prepreg composite processes.
Custom refits and interior fit-out works.
Qualifications and Experience - Desired
Valid WA Driver’s Licence & reliable transport
